The National Union of Ghana students wishes to use this opportunity to applaud the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) for donating 2750 tonnes of cereals to the Government of Ghana and the Free Senior High School (SHS) Policy to boost the success of students at the Senior High School level.

The donation from ECOWAS which comprises of 1,000 tonnes of maize, 750 tonnes of white rice, 500 tonnes of millet and 500 tonnes of sorghum, will go a long way in promoting the Free Senior High Policy.

NUGS encourages the stakeholders of the Free SHS Policy to fairly distribute the donation to the appropriate quarters so it can be of benefit to the students of Ghana.

NUGS also urges the Free SHS Secretariat and the National Food Buffer Stock Company (NAFCO) to put measures in place to ensure that school authorities make quality use of it .

NUGS wishes to encourage students of Ghana to channel all challenges faced to the National Secretariat in order to ensure that adequate measures are put in place to address them.
