The Co-President of the National Union of Ghana Students Elisha Oheneba Essumang, left Ghana on Saturday, 11th August, 2018, for the United States of America, to attend a United Nations Youth Assembly Meeting in New York City under the theme;

“Breaking New Grounds for Sustainable Development”

The 22nd Session of The Youth Assembly signals a growing momentum of youth leadership and participation in the global movement for sustainable development. As the largest generation of youth ever recorded, young people are capable of making historic positive change. Youth must have a voice in important dialogues and decision-making processes as well as the opportunity to contribute solutions to challenges that affect us all.

President Oheneba Essumang will also be in New Jersey, California, and Florida where he will meet with Student Leaders and their Dean of Students; a move which intend to build bridges towards partnering organizations to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs 4 by 2030.

He was accompanied by the Former Local NUGS President of the University of Ghana, Maxwell Adu Takyi.

President Oheneba Essumang will return to Ghana on Monday, 28th August, 2018, and in the absence of the President and the General Secretary, the Co-Treasurer of NUGS, Mr. Dennis Frimpong, , shall in accordance with Article 41(b) of the NUGS Constitution, act in his stead.
